The Club

45 years of red & black

Born in 1981 when Traralgon and Tyers United joined forces, the TTU Bombers carry the red and black with pride — three senior premierships and counting. Tyers Recreation Reserve is our runway: footy and netball, every grade.

We're more than a football club. We're a place where families gather every weekend, where kids learn the game, and where the local community comes together. New players, netballers, volunteers and supporters are always welcome.

In 1981 two footy towns joined forces — and the Bombers have carried both names ever since. One membership backs the lot: footy and netball, juniors to seniors, both ends of the flight path.

Plenty of clubs represent a town. The Bombers carry two — training nights, netball courts and Saturday footy that stitch Traralgon and Tyers together. When you pull on the red and black, you're flying for both.

🎟️ How do members get into home games free?
Your digital membership card lives on your phone with a live QR pass. At the Tyers Recreation Reserve gate a volunteer scans it — green tick, you're in. The code refreshes every 30 seconds like a concert ticket, so screenshots can't be shared or reused — one member, one entry.
📱 What if someone doesn't have a smartphone?
No problem — the gate volunteer can look any member up by name or member number in the club's member list, and the club can print a card for anyone who'd like one.
💳 Does the club pay fees on website payments?
Only if it chooses to. The site offers bank transfer (PayID) with zero fees — money lands straight in the club's account — and optional card payments (~1.75% + 30¢) for instant convenience. The club decides which to promote.
👕 How do I get my merch or membership pack?
Everything is collected at the club on home-game days. Every order appears on the committee's orders list with your name, so nothing goes missing — and you'll get an emailed receipt.
🛠️ Who keeps the website up to date?
The committee — no tech skills needed. A simple Club Admin login lets you add functions, update merch and post news in seconds, while fixtures, results and ladders update automatically from PlayHQ.
🔒 Is member information safe?
Yes — logins and member details are stored in a secure members database, payments are handled by bank-grade providers (the club never sees card numbers), and the club's privacy policy covers how information is used.
🏉 Can I register to play through the site?
Playing registrations still go through PlayHQ as required by the league — the site links you straight there, and covers everything else: membership, merch, fixtures, functions and news.
