The Club

139 years of red & white

Footy has run hot in Yarram since 1887. The Demons carry over a century of red-and-white history — including a famous senior premiership — from the Yarram Recreation Reserve, with footy and netball sides in every grade.

We're more than a football club. We're a place where families gather every weekend, where kids learn the game, and where the local community comes together. New players, netballers, volunteers and supporters are always welcome.

The Demon Army Travels

Furthest club in the league. Loudest bus in the comp.

Yarram sits deeper in South Gippsland than any other club in the league — every away game is a genuine road trip. The Demon Army Bus turns the longest hauls in the comp into the best part of the weekend.

The Long Road

No club in this league travels further to play footy and netball. We stopped calling that a burden about a century ago — now it's the ritual.

Other clubs measure away games in minutes. We measure ours in horizons. Since 1887 the red and white has made the trip anyway — the bus just means we make it together, and make it loud.

🎟️ How do members get into home games free?
Your digital membership card lives on your phone with a live QR pass. At the Yarram Recreation Reserve gate a volunteer scans it — green tick, you're in. The code refreshes every 30 seconds like a concert ticket, so screenshots can't be shared or reused — one member, one entry.
📱 What if someone doesn't have a smartphone?
No problem — the gate volunteer can look any member up by name or member number in the club's member list, and the club can print a card for anyone who'd like one.
💳 Does the club pay fees on website payments?
Only if it chooses to. The site offers bank transfer (PayID) with zero fees — money lands straight in the club's account — and optional card payments (~1.75% + 30¢) for instant convenience. The club decides which to promote.
👕 How do I get my merch or membership pack?
Everything is collected at the club on home-game days. Every order appears on the committee's orders list with your name, so nothing goes missing — and you'll get an emailed receipt.
🛠️ Who keeps the website up to date?
The committee — no tech skills needed. A simple Club Admin login lets you add functions, update merch and post news in seconds, while fixtures, results and ladders update automatically from PlayHQ.
🔒 Is member information safe?
Yes — logins and member details are stored in a secure members database, payments are handled by bank-grade providers (the club never sees card numbers), and the club's privacy policy covers how information is used.
🏉 Can I register to play through the site?
Playing registrations still go through PlayHQ as required by the league — the site links you straight there, and covers everything else: membership, merch, fixtures, functions and news.
